The Eagle Eye Academy is located in a western portion of Mariposa County known as
Catheys Valley. Rolling foothills dotted with oaks and pines. This is ranch land,
with some of the richest grazing areas in the state. But western Mariposa County is
much more than just ranch land. The historic town of Hornitos, now not much more
than a ghost town, plays host to the originaal Ghirardeelli chocolate factory.
Country back roads which wend their way through these magnificent hills are a
bicyclist's dream. Bird wathchers will delight in the variety of soaring hawks,
eagles and lowland birds.
Nestled in this historic setting is the historic town of Mariposa, the county seat. Here you'll find a community dedicated to making your stay a pleasant one. Lodging, restaurants, shops, gas and groceries mingle with a historic downtown section and every modern amenity travelers could need. Special events held throughout the year and an active arts community add to the ambiance of this charming town.
